Placement Tests

If you are plan to enroll your student for the first time in one of our middle or high school math classes for the 2024-2025 school year, the student will need to take a placement test.  

Students who are currently in an academic math class at Timothy Ministry do not have to take the placement test.  A grade of ‘C’ or higher in their current math class will allow them to move on to the next math class.

The purpose of this test is to determine your child’s readiness for one of the following math courses: 7th Grade (Intermediate) Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Geometry.  

Books, notes, calculators, and other people CANNOT be consulted during the test.  

A Timothy Ministry math teacher will review your child’s test and advise you on placement or remedial work.  A student sometimes fails a test because they are making the same mistake repeatedly or are simply missing one concept.
